Woodward, Bernstein and Deep Throat
_ Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein were two young reporters
on a chase for money, but this chase led them into one of the nations
largest scandals. Once these two reporters were handed the assignment to
write about the burglary of the Watergate complex, they began to reveal
all of the hidden secrets and the involvement of the President.
Bernstein and Woodward found a man named Donald Segretti who was hired
by the Committee to Re-elect the President to be a political operative.
These two investigated Segretti which led them to the discovery of the
dirty tricks that the republican party was using to help President
Nixon. Woodward and Bernstein kept the public updated and continued revealing secrets of the Presidents involvement. Although the investigation of Segretti was able to connect the
dots, Woodward and Bernstein were able to gradually find out inside
information from a secret source by the name of "Deep Throat". Deep
Throat was a government insider who gave the reporters confirmation and
certain tips. The secret of "Deep Throat" went on for about 30 years, when
in 2005 it was discovered and confirmed that "Deep Throat" was a man
named Mark Felt. Many still do not believe that Felt is really Deep
Throat as they question how he could know certain information, although
both Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein confirmed this was their secret
source.
